On the way to the Summit of Ben Macdui we went from cold and wet to very cold and full of rime, ice and snow the closer we got to the summit. Happily the sun was out and thus it was a fine day out in the hills!

The Devil’s Point was our first Munro on our trip to the Cairngorm National Park in Scotland. It’s an easy Munro with great view over to Ben Macdui and back down over the River Dee.

This loch is a short distance from our campsite. Despite living in the UK, I’ve never explored Scotland until now. The 9 hour drive was definitely worth it. This scenery is breathtaking and like nothing I’ve seen before. This particular loch had really quiet areas, as if you are at one with nature. On the other side is a beach, cafe and water sports hire making it perfect for families. It reminded me of trips to Cornwall but this ‘sea’ is surrounded by breathtaking mountains.
